Rex Allen Jr. in an Arizona Tribute

Jan 18, 2013 - Dec 18, 2013

Rex Allen Jr. joins the Phoenix Symphony for a musical tribute to Arizona and the tradition of the singing cowboy of the silver screen. Allen continues the legacy of his father, the “Arizona Cowboy” of Willcox, Ariz., known for his Western music and movie classics as well as the voice behind hundreds of Walt Disney characters, with his own chart-topping singles including “Can You Hear Those Pioneers?,” “Ride Cowboy, Ride” and “Teardrops in My Heart.” In 1984, Allen Jr.’s composition “Arizona” became the official alternate state song of Arizona. Feel the Western heritage of yesteryear brought to life as the Phoenix Symphony and Rex Allen Jr. come together for this unforgettable tribute to Arizona. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19.
